Do You Have Good Eating Habits?
This video is a big “WOW” for good eating habits! (see below) In a minute and thirty-nine seconds you can be on your way to some really good eating habits that will go a long way to get you on track with a gout diet. In my opinion the real “meat & potatoes” of the video is the emphasis on cooking as many of your meals at home/yourself to avoid processed foods. Preventing gout and good eating habits go hand-in-hand.
(+update-09/17/16: I had to add this update to this post – the ideas in this video for creating new, good habits for eating and diet, are very helpful. However, the information is a bit outdated. Saturated fat is not as harmful as it once was thought to be. In fact, it is a very necessary part of our ability to stay heart healthy and is essential for our ability to “anti-inflame”. That is a big deal when it comes to gout.
Also, eating breakfast may or may not be the best thing for us – especially eating a very high carbohydrate, sugar-laden breakfast. That only raises blood sugar and triggers insulin response, which interrupts the normal morning hormonal cycle of cortisol. This can lead to a number of different health challenges and promotes unwanted fat storage.)
My gout is in check! Thank you!
Thank you Bert for the information. I placed my order last night for this product. My gout has been in check by using your program and I read on you e-mail. Breathing, water, relaxing, and eating right has been great for me.
Thank you very much. ~ Richard
It’s been my experience (maybe yours too?) that when I adopted some good eating habits, it had a profound effect on all the other parts of my life as well. I mean, as far as gout relief goes, changing to a better diet for gout really helped me in a lot of other ways too; better sleep, more energy, better mood/less stress, improved digestion are a few – which all contribute to a less acidic inner body environment and helps to prevent gout attacks and that wicked pain that goes with them.
When Good Eating Habits Go Bad…
#1 on the list and most important: Cook your own meals. Out of 21 meals a week, how many of them do you cook yourself? Or are at less home cooked meals? That was the first habit I had to face head on. When I sidestepped the insanity of my crazy sales job and started working from home, due to my new-found good eating habits I was able to create even more distance between the happy life I live today and my last gout attack.
Let’s Review
Here they are again:
- Cook your own meals
- Make a shopping list
- Read nutrition labels
- Eat breakfast
- Eat every three to four hours
- Drink plenty of water
- Feel the difference
Soon I will be writing specifically about each one of these seven points of good eating habits because each one deserves a complete post of it’s own. But of all of them, the one that has really helped me the most is #6: Water. In order; we die within minutes without Air, within days without Water, and within weeks without Food. So make drinking plenty of the right water part of your good eating habits.

“I know your pain. Let me help you kill your gout for good! And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.” Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout. Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life. Prescription drugs were of limited help… And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures. His marriage was suffering. His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible. Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain. And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.
Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now. Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle. Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours. And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD! So you can finally start LIVING again!
