Although gout in knee isn’t as common, I’ve ended up with it and it lasted for more than a week on several occasions.
Those first signs of gout, whether they are in your hands, feet, knees or where ever can be dreadful. It used to be for me that I would start popping the ibuprofen as soon as I got the feeling. This of course was in spite of my doctor’s orders since I have only one kidney.
As I said, gout in the knee is not something that happened to me often back in the day, but it did happen a few times. As I recall, it did not bring with it the same level of debilitation that comes along with ankle gout or wrist gout. You can limp a hell of a lot easier with your leg straight than you can when you can’t even put weight on your foot – so I guess that would make gout in knee better than getting an attack in any of the other joints.
Could This Be YOU?
One thing to keep in mind is that getting gout in the knee could actually be pseudogout. Pseudogout is an arthritic condition that mocks [regular] gout only instead of excess uric acid, it’s excess calcium building up. The technical term is “calcium pyrophosphate arthritis”.
What you suggested really works!
Hi Bert, the other day I got a bit of an ache in my joint, the first one since I did your program. Back then I had it in both feet, ankles, and knees, so I know what you suggested really works. Thanks for the phone conversation back then too,it was good to talk with someone who has been there and done that, and is not just selling the tablets like my Dr. was trying to do to me. ~ Phil
Nevertheless, I have met with guys that have had gout attack both knees at the same time – that would really suck. What is more important to keep in mind with gout in general though, is that it’s not the pain you need to worry about – it’s the diabetes and heart disease and more that it is just an omen of.
Getting The “Gout in Knee” Pictures?
Gout in and of itself is really nothing to mess around with but what can never be stressed enough is to take fast action when gout strikes.
If you have gout, and especially as bad as you see in these photos, you (and I) are well on our way to heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes and others if we don’t get on the stick, start paying attention, and living and eating right.

☆ Remember! Whether it’s gout in the knee or any other joint…the pain is optional.
“I know your pain. Let me help you kill your gout for good! And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.” Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout. Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life. Prescription drugs were of limited help… And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures. His marriage was suffering. His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible. Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain. And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.
Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now. Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle. Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours. And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD! So you can finally start LIVING again!
