Where Do I Get My Commitment and Discipline?

My commitment and discipline starts with a book called 365 Tao by Deng Ming Dao everyday and in 2011 it will have been 20 years ago that I started.

The book is oriented to spiritual practice and it has also served to push and coax me forward in times of adversity, prosperity, sadness and joy. It just struck me today how that could so easily be applied to my (past) struggle with gout, my athletic endeavors, and my constant amusement in creating wealth.

Application

Helping other folks with gout has inadvertently become a passion of mine. I joke that while helping people overcome their gout pain is my passion, powder skiing is my addiction. At least it’s a more healthy one . . . more than I could say in the past. (Is that my explanation of how I gave myself gout?)

What I’ve recently become frustrated with is my limited ability to help more people with their treat gout effectively. More often than not, people with gout think every time they get over their gout attack that it was the last one; it’s over and I’m past it now. I lived that one so many times…but a lot of drugs and surgeries later, learned that the real deal is keepin’ it real.

We are gout fighting warriors!

Thank you Bert.  What you are doing means so much to me. I have difficulty expressing, in words, how much I feel your thoughts and efforts change the world.

Personally, I have an over-abundance of first-hand experience with this one. At one point I was resigned to the fact that gout and I were going through life together and that I needed to accept that. But lucky for you, I didn’t.

So here comes the big speech, drum-roll please; “what does it take to over-come gout?”

…”Commitment and Discipline”

Breathe deep, drink good water, eat real food, sleep well. Commitment and Discipline. Sounds easy doesn’t it?

Remember!  Are you willing to apply some commitment and discipline to killing your gout?

Bert Middleton

“I know your pain. Let me help you kill your gout for good!  And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.” Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout. Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life. Prescription drugs were of limited help… And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures. His marriage was suffering. His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible. Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain.  And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.

Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now. Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle. Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours. And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD! So you can finally start LIVING again!
