Gout Prevention Is The Best Gout Treatment

…getting educated about gout prevention is the best possible gout treatment is all there is to do.

If you’re looking for gout treatment and you’ve had a gout attack before, I’m sure you understand…however, make no mistake – if you’ve had a gout attack before, it won’t be your last. Gout pain relief and gout treatment doesn’t need to be a mystery.

Prevention IS Gout Treatment

Gout Uric Acid in Big Toe JointToo many people wait until it’s too late. They feel the tingle or ache and go into denial or they “hope” it’s going to go away…big mistake. That is the worst thing you can do. When the uric acid starts to crystallize, it’s a continuous process. You have to start taking measures to get out in front of that process.

The sad thing is that western medicine basically ignores the simple fact that acid, is the opposite of alkaline, especially when it comes to gout prevention. To make matters worse, synthetic drugs, chemicals, compounds are basically acidic in nature – meaning your body doesn’t really want them in there. You have to start doing things that help to eliminate the acidity and raise the overall body pH up into a more alkaline range. Although it can be more involved than this simplistic approach, a high percentage of the time, these measures will help to quickly lessen the pain and move the swelling and inflammation out. Here they are:

  • Air – breathe deep, breathe full, and keep doing it. It helps to oxygenate the blood quickly. Blood that is low in oxygen can become acidic . . . with uric acid.
  • Water – drink copious amounts of water, consistently. As in, at least 8oz every hour. It may be easier to just stay in the bathroom and do this.
  • Food – alkalizing foods are generally fresh vegetables and fruits. Raw, fresh foods like that are high in antioxidants and live enzymes.

There are a number of factors that determine how severe and how frequently different people experience bouts with gout. These are also the same factors that play into how quickly and easily different people pass through the agony of gout flares. Learning more and getting educated about what the acid/alkaline balance is can make a night and day difference. The simple truth is, the more pH balanced your overall body chemistry is, the less likely you’ll get gout and the less severe and long lasting your gout attacks will be.

Most of the treatment information you may have already found will advise you to watch what your eating and avoid drinking alcohol. This will help reduce the amount of purines your body is having to metabolize and limit both the production of uric acid and the need to pass it through the kidneys and urinary track. However, as far as treatments for gout go, that is a small part of it and might not be the most important part.

More often than not, most folks think gout is caused or solved solely by what they eat or don’t eat – as I said earlier, this is only part of the equation.

It is best to try to understand gout from a more “holistic” point of view. When you think of improving your health in general, do you think only of eating this and not eating that? No. You start thinking of having to go to the gym, or start getting in the habit of walking, or doing some sort of exercise. That helps your overall health. That approach helps control your challenge with gout. Beyond that, you start working on getting more sleep, not getting so stressed out, staying away from toxic chemicals, drinking and eating less sugar, staying properly hydrated, and staying more mentally centered. These all go hand-in-hand with controlling the incidence of gout.

Beyond the more obvious ways and means that have direct consequences on the strength or weakness of health in general, there are some other less well-known and obscure factors that play into the incidence of gout. Sleep apnea, gluten intolerance, and parasites can all be culprits that add to metabolic imbalances and disorders that can directly or indirectly cause gout. Being aware and adopting a mindset of being proactive about preventing gout is the first step to leading a gout free life.
