“Maintaining Momentum While Preserving the Balance”

Life is all about momentum.

Moutain Biking Uphill with Momentum“…maintaining momentum while preserving the balance…” was the great inspiration that came from some awesome mountain biking this weekend.

My wife Sharon and I took a little break from the “kill gout” routine and did a little camping trip with our good friends Dean and Abby this weekend in the Sangre de Cristos near Crestone, CO.

Mountain biking can be a grueling sport and for my 52 years I’m still pushing myself fairly hard…not hard enough, my buddy Dean was still ahead of me both uphill and down. It’s OK, I have my excuse; he’s only 46…and lets remember; it’s all about momentum.

Momentum is the Secret at Every Turn

What I’ve continually found fun and rewarding about the sport is the challenge of doing the climbs, where maintaining momentum and preserving the balance becomes essential. It’s a bit of a ‘Tortoise and the Hare” kind of a deal with Dean and I; he blasts way out in front, then often times, he’ll burn out or spin out on the steep, technical uphills and I’ll come methodically churning by. (my only claim to fame when we’re riding together, it sort of happens when we’re skiing too, so I had to do a post about it)

I’m 90% fixed… thanks a heap!
Hi Bert, at the moment I’m about 90% fixed, hope you can help me more looking forward to hearing from you.
THANKS A HEAP ~ Moreno

Perpetual Motion

Many times when I’m out my bike, I’ve had the thought about what an axiom for life “maintaining momentum while preserving the balance” is. This time I thought it a good topic for a post in relationship to gout all my efforts to help all the others struggling to find a gout treatment that really works!

We all live these busy, stressful lives and sometimes the momentum of our bad habits overrides all the good habits of taking care of ourselves and preventing unhealthy conditions from setting in.

It takes some dedication to maintain the momentum of a productive life and still preserve the balance we need to get good rest, deal with life’s pressures, and eat healthy.

Stop Gout Pain Now

☆ Remember!  It takes “momentum” to be…gout free.

Bert Middleton, The Original Gout Killer

“I know your pain.  Let me help you kill your gout for good!  And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.”

Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout.   Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life.

Prescription drugs were of limited help…

And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures.  His marriage was suffering.  His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible.

Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain.  And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.

Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now.

Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle via their website TheGoutKiller.com

Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours.

And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD!

So you can finally start LIVING again!

I like it! You could work this one for a while. I'm a bit afraid of seeing the video, I hope you did some editing. Keep it up, you are one of my heroes! Dean

Hi Bert My recently late father would say to me that life was always about balance. A little bit of what you fancy does you good, and being over balanced or extreme about anything has proven to be bad for health, well it has in my experience. As a youngster I took to running and represented my county at X-Country. At the age of 19 I ran a half marathon in 1hr 17mins 30 something seconds and came 31st out of 2000 or more. At the age of 21 I was doing 80 miles running a week going out twice a day to keep my mileage up, and being competitive I would always be racing something. If not that cyclist then I would race myself and be disappointed if I did not turn in another 6min/mile session. At the age of 25 I noticed I hit this sequence of feeling great for a week, but then tired and then ill over a 5 wk cycle. This ended up being diagnosed as pneumonia and I decided to stop running and go to the gym and play soccer instead. I am 45 this year and weigh in at 110kg, so my physic has moved on a lot from being a strong X-Country runner to a fatter heavier skier/biker. Being heavier means I am much more susceptible to injury and life is a constant battle of keeping fit, nurturing injury, staying healthy. It does not help also that I have a lust for life that means I often over indulge myself on chocolate, cream, wine and cheese. So I guess my character type is that of someone who struggles with balance so rather than try and cycle uphill I shall stick to the downhill scene!

Hi Robert! Great story - never slow down! You are an inspiration to me and lots of others. Chocolate, cream, wine and cheese all work for me too - maybe the excess is what got me gout, however, now I have found a way to "balance" all that as well so they are all still part of my everyday life and a necessary part of living life to the fullest! Thanks for the comment.

With the blood, anything under is 6.0 mg/dl is usually considered good…over that and you’re getting into dangerous gout territory. I’ve had mine up at 9.9 before, but I’ve heard of others at 11 and even 13! buff.ly/2GpmOHw ... See MoreSee Less
