What To Do About Gout

  • Gout Home Remedies, Gout Pain Relief, Gout Treatment, what to do about gout

Man Looking Up with Magnifying GlassMost people would like to know what to do about gout. Are you one them? There are lots of gout home remedies and gout treatments, I’m going to help you out.

First and foremost, when gout attacks, it requires fast action to start the process of alkalizing. It’s not difficult and it’s the best course of action for what to do about gout.

Obviously, when it comes to what to do about gout, the pharmaceutical industry has successfully confused the majority of people around the world. Modern medications have their place as an effective treatment for what to do about gout attacks, but they should not be the starting point.

What To Do About Gout First

Plain and simple, gout is caused by an overly acidic inner body condition. There are many different acidic substances that the kidneys have to manage. Some of them come from outside the body, others are made by the body itself and have specific functions. Uric acid is one of them. This is key to understanding what to do about gout.

There are a variety of natural substances that act quickly to start the process of neutralizing excess acidity of the inner environment. The two most well-known are 1) ordinary baking soda and, 2) apple cider vinegar. It’s essential to use them in the proper order and amounts for them to work quickly and have the most impact.

What To Do Next

As the alkalizing process starts to take effect, the use of generic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) work infinitely better. Definitely check with your doctor to make sure that over-the-counter drugs like ibuprofen are OK for your particular body condition.

Consuming bicarbonate of soda internally is the fastest thing you can do for a gout attack. It changes the pH of the inner body terrain fast.

Topical methods of alkalizing also produce excellent results. Soak the affected joint in warmish water and Epson Salts for about 20 minutes. Then wrap it in a towel with ice packs. This will neutralize the acidity in the tissues of the joint and flush it out. Alternate this process several times.

Hi Bert,

The “remedy” of BS and ACV worked immediately as you said it would. A steady diet of banana-blueberry smoothies, green tea and celery on Day 2 has kept the swelling down. Not sure what caused the flare up as we eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, lean beef, chicken and fish, and moderate alcohol use. Your theory of too much acid, possibly caused by stress, makes sense. Will try lemon-infused water to make my body more alkaline – plus continue the bananas, celery and cherries. Other ideas welcome. The drugs the doctor prescribed were making me sick, so your remedy (other than the ACV ? was a welcome relief.

What To Do After the Attack Has Subsided

Knowing what to do about gout for the following several days is critical. Because the attack was due to an overly acidic inner body condition, it’s possible that the dietary and lifestyle habits that brought on this gouty event will cause it to return quickly, and with greater severity.

Realizing that gout is the result of years of poor choices is the first step to permanently avoiding future attacks.

Stop Gout Pain Now

Best Practices

The basics for what to do about gout, both in the short-term and the long-term, come down to two rules for how to move forward:

  1. Learn what to do and how to avoid adding to the overall acidic load, and
  2. Take full advantage of methods and activities that help to eliminate acidic accumulation.

Bert Middleton, The Original Gout Killer

“I know your pain.  Let me help you kill your gout for good!  And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.”

Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout.   Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life.

Prescription drugs were of limited help…

And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures.  His marriage was suffering.  His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible.

Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain.  And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.

Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now.

Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle via their website TheGoutKiller.com

Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours.

And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD!

So you can finally start LIVING again!

Have an attack going on right now. started in one knee went to the other knee and than to the ball of the foot. The S and V treatment does not seem to be working. Getting pain across my lower back when the attacks occur. Was on the Keto diet with protein coming mainly from eggs and lean meat, and seafoods(non-shell.) carbs from vegetables. Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks in advance.

Hi Larry - it would be good to avoid all proteins including animal proteins for the time being. Lots of fresh vegetables - curry stir-frys might be a good direction. Also, see this post: https://www.thegoutkiller.com/blog/gout-causes/crystal-induced-arthritis-gout-pseudogout/ When you say the gout is in your knee, it rings a bell about pseudogout - calcium instead of uric acid. I have been working on finding more and more evidence about the role oxalates play in bringing on gout. Spinach being a superfood and in most cases a really healthy food, can be a bad choice for those of us with gout. I hope that helps.
