This is possibly the most significant development toward health of human beings in recent history. Damaged, hydrogenated trans fats are simply toxins in the body.

The evidence is all around us. Although we’ve been told to eat “low fat” for the last 40 years, in the last 40 years obesity has become a “disease”!

How can that be? Trans fats are half of the problem; refined, synthetic sugars are the other half.

These trans fats are no good for ANY diet let alone a gout diet. 


The FDA Comes to the Rescue?

Is it possible? When you understand that almost all the “food” that is produced today – all that denatured and reformulated processed junk that comes in boxes, bags, cans, and bottles – is loaded with hydrogenated oils and trans fats, you start to get the picture that there are going to be some major, MAJOR companies that are going to be enraged. Major companies that do billions of dollars in revenue each year, with lobbyists, lawyers, and deep pockets…that are not going to sit back and quietly let this happen. (companies that make margarine like “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!)


The FDA is in the back pocket of these companies – what will happen next?

In this article by CBS News, they are talking about companies like McDonalds that have switched to “zero trans fat cooking oils”…what the heck is that?! My guess is that it’s even cheaper and more toxic that what they’ve been using before!

Good Fats, Bad Fats and Gout

So what’s the deal? Are you one of those people that are well aware that “fat is bad for you?” Where did you get that idea? I realized one day that I was operating from that mindset and finally had to ask myself, “why do I believe that?” Here’s why: We’ve all been programmed and conditioned by the media to believe that!

We’ve all grown up being bombarded by one message after another on TV, radio, magazines, billboards and of course, the internet about how baaaaaaaadddd fats are – and just look around! If you eat fat, you get fat!

Eating Fat DOESN’T Equate to Being Fat!

Our bodies are made of fats! EVERY cell membrane is made out of a “phosphoLIPID bilayer”…lipid, get it? Lipids are fats! We need fats – good fats, the RIGHT fats! But what happens when we eat damaged trans fats? Our cell membranes start to become made out of them. Then the nutrients and fuels don’t get in, the wastes don’t get out, and the cell-to-cell signaling/communication gets all messed up.

What is the result? You get sick, you get diseases, you get gout! You don’t think as clearly, you digest poorly, your breathing becomes impaired and your joints suffer.

Fats are our body’s preferred source of fuel; it’s the slow burning logs that help to maintain a smooth flow of energy production. Good quality fats are required for the strong production of hormones; how often do you feel rundown, out of energy, and low on sexual performance? Are you eating too many processed foods LOADED with trans fats?

Here’s the big one for people with gout: Good fats are what the hormone-like substance called “prostaglandins” are made out of. And what are prostaglandins? They control how we healthfully inflame and “anti-inflame”!
