It’s great being The Gout Killer. In this very unusual and sort of odd way, because of gout, I have made so many friends all over the world.
This post is basically an email from fellow Gout Killer Jeff. There is so much information out there about gout treatment and gout prevention, the collective community of Gout Killers have far surpassed what little I know. Now, what most of my time is filled with, is trying keep the conversations going and the information flowing.
So thanks to Jeff, we all get a very in-depth and valuable education about not only turmeric itself, but more importantly, how to effectively use it! Thanks Jeff!
Turmeric For Gout Relief
(this is the email in it’s entirety, just as Jeff wrote it, with his permission)
Hey Bert – long time customer and friend — Jeff
I would like to share with you – and all other gout sufferers – the success I’ve had in the last 3 years.First – let me be clear that – I used your program to get past the worst gout attack I’ve ever experienced. Afterwords, I started looking for “long-term” gout prevention and the diet/exercise programs necessary to ensure a gout-free life. And – to be sure – this gout-free goal included all of Bert’s guidelines and recommendations. BUT – in addition to Bert’s great advice and scientific recommendations …
I have also come across “Turmeric” and one of its primary ingredients, “Curcumin”. Turmeric/Curcumin are renowned for – amongst other things – their anti-inflammatory qualities. Now, I LOVE Curry. And all good curry mixes include ‘some’ amount of turmeric. But what we want is not a “spice amount” but a “medicinal amount” of curcumin.
And we want to know that our bodies are ingesting, assimilating and absorbing the maximum amount of curcumin from the turmeric we ingest. Research has indicated that many oils or gelatinous materials – absorb the curcumin and make it more easily consumed. Different sources have suggested different absorbing agents. To cover all my bases – I consume 1 Tablespoon of turmeric every morning – surrounded by and absorbed by one or more of the following.
1/4 cup Flax Seed
1/4 cup Chia Seed
1/4 cup Hemp Seed
1/4 cup Quinoa Seed
1 Tblsp Butter (organic, range-feed, non-pasteurized)
1 Tblsp Coconut Oil (organic, non-pasteurized)
1 Tblsp Olive Oil (organic, non-pasteurized, Extra-Virgin)
2 Eggs Free Range
1 Tblsp Turmeric
1/2 tspn Black Pepper (fresh ground organic)
1/2 tspn Cayenne PepperThis entire recipe is designed for one thing – pushing maximum amounts of curcumin into our cellular system. But it also addresses your request for a gout-friendly protein diet:
High in Protein: Flax seed, Chia seed, Quinoa seed, Butter, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Eggs
And Bert – IT WORKS. Since I’ve included this morning meal (2.5 years) – I’ve had ZERO gout or ANY OTHER pain or discomfort often associated with cellular or systemic inflammation.
Bert: I know that a lot of people will claim that they’ve consumed curry all their lives with no benefits. Not good enough. Curry may contain trace level so Turmeric … which represents even smaller amounts of Curcumin. But even if our fellow gout sufferers are consuming adequate amounts of curcumin, they may not be consuming or assimilating the necessary benefits because of inadequate fat mediums like Omega-3 fatty acids.
Good Nutritional Facts For Gout
The reason I thought it was so important to put this out there is because Jeff really uncovered something that most of the time goes undetected/unappreciated/misunderstood. The use of the fats and oils and gelatinous materials make the active ingredients in many foods way more “bioavailable” – i.e. more well absorbed, assimilated, and used by our bodies.
The other really important piece to the puzzle is that good healthy fats; saturated, mono-unsaturated, and poly-unsaturated – are critical to the development of “prostaglandins” – hormone-like lipid compounds that are fundamental to our body’s ability to “anti-inflame”. And being able to anti-inflame properly is a big deal when it comes to gout. (as you well know)
So take it from Gout Killer Jeff and start experimenting with turmeric for gout relief. His recommendations about combining turmeric/curcumin with good fats and oils and gelatinous foods like chia seeds, is the kind of information anyone that struggles with gout needs to take advantage of.
☆ Bottom-line: Gout attacks are a whole lot easier to prevent than they are to stop, once they’ve gotten started.
“I know your pain. Let me help you kill your gout for good! And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.” Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout. Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life. Prescription drugs were of limited help… And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures. His marriage was suffering. His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible. Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain. And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.
Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now. Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle. Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours. And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD! So you can finally start LIVING again!
